Slow-cooked Kalua Pig x Charmaine

Charmaine and I go back to the Music Room Junkie days of San Jose State.

She was the inspiration and her likeness was used for the character, Talim, in the video game Soul Calibur 2. She previously worked for the company of a certain ghost-eating yellow and round 8-bit legend, and currently works for a box-like Internet radio company.

Thanks so much Char!

Charmaine says: Here's a super easy crock pot recipe and one of my favorite Hawaiian dishes:

Ingredients

  • 1 (6 pound) pork butt roast
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Hawaiian sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring

Directions

  1. Pierce pork all over with a carving fork. Rub salt then liquid smoke over meat. Place roast in a slow cooker.
  2. Cover, and cook on Low for 8 - 10 hours or high for 4 hours turning once during cooking time.
  3. Remove meat from slow cooker, and shred, adding drippings as needed to moisten.

You can add shredded cabbage before serving too! As an FYI, if you ever make this while you sleep the smell will travel and you will dream of eating it lol!
